Tycho Brahe (1546-1601)
- Astronomer/astrologer who made it his goal to create an accurate set of planetary tables, because he saw this as necessary in order to make accurate predictions.
- Constructed and operated an elaborate observatory which he used to record very precise observations of the movements of the planetary bodies.
- Died before his work could be completed, his assistant Johannes Kepler published most of his works after his death.
- Laid the basis for Kepler’s work- or Kepler completed what Tycho had begun.
