Common Interpretation

The house of the Sun represents where we are most able to "shine" and where we long to assert ourselves in some outstanding fashion. A twelfth house Sun is a "rose on the grave" that can blossom in seclusion or suffering, or by seeking meaning in life. However, if we hold on to our resentment or pain at the injustices done to us instead of transcending them, we may grow only tangled thorns. Whether our struggles bring compassion or vengeance, we will develop some sort of spiritual vision which will enable us to express ourselves. During our lives, our natal Sun progresses into the first house, which may be fairly quick depending on how low to the horizon it was at birth. Therefore some of us may be very self oriented whereas others are more spiritually inclined.
