The house of the Sun represents where we are most able to "shine" and where we long to assert ourselves in some outstanding fashion. A ninth house Sun is curious about the ethical and cultural aspects of society. We love to learn, and to be recognized as knowledgeable and sophisticated. On the surface we can seem very conventional and law abiding, but in reality we are always seeking our own truth. With Sun in the ninth house, we become a "law unto our self", often synthesizing a unique moral or social code of our own, which we then follow religiously. We are intrigued with new people and places and seek to integrate these other lifestyles and beliefs into our world view. This doesn't mean we are necessarily tolerant, however, we are just as likely to denounce a culture or lifestyle as to embrace it, depending on how it compares to our own behavioral code. Although others may not always agree with us, within our own set of values we seek integrity and high ethical standards.
