The sextile is a sixth harmonic aspect in which the angle formed by division is 60°. When two points are in sextile it means that from a geocentric position on earth, the two bodies appear to be exactly 1/6 of the way around the zodiac from each other. The number six equals 2x3 and has the numerological significance of love and beauty. It often indicates harmony with others, or affects how others see us. Planets in sextile share the same gender, but are in different elements and qualities, so it is hard to say exactly how it will present itself. The effect could feel harmonious or aggressive depending on the signs and planets, although the results are generally good since it encourages attraction. The sextile is half a trine, so it is always easy and has an element of luck, however it is half the strength. It may take some effort on the part of the native to focus and use this energy. Sextiles which contain an angular house or cardinal sign may be more noticeable.
