The semisextile is a twelfth harmonic aspect in which the angle formed by division is 30°. It is also half the sextile, so it has a similar effect but is about half the strength. When two points are in semisextile it means that from a geocentric position on earth, the two bodies appear to be exactly 1/12 of the way around the zodiac from each other. The number twelve equals 4x3 and has the numerological significance of earth (4) uniting with heaven (3) or union of spirit and matter. The effect is to evolve in some way in order to reach a stable, functioning relationship between the issues represented by the planets, signs and houses. Planets in semisextile are in different genders, elements and qualities. The effect could feel harmonious or aggressive depending on the signs and planets, although the results are generally good since it encourages integration. Semisextiles containing a cardinal sign and/or angular house may be more obvious.
