Here, ambition is at odds with freedom. After Saturn has built something, Uranus breaks it down, possibly resulting in frequent change in whatever area of life Saturn rules. There is a constant restless dissatisfaction with the structures Saturn builds, though there may be no clear reason. This restlessness is probably suppressed, until eventually some shocking action causes the breakdown of structure to allow more freedom (for example, quitting a job or breaking up with a relationship). In order to begin mastering the issues involved, the inner conflict has to stop being repressed and there has to be an allowance for compromise.
The quincunx creates an impulse to express each energy, but does not admit that the energies are incompatible. Therefore the native has a tendency to suppress issues related to one of the planets and not see it as an important need in the situation, while pushing ahead with the other. They bounce back and forth between the two, each time trying to express the whole energy when they cannot. With Saturn quincunx Uranus, there is on the one hand a strong impulse to be cautious and build structures for long term gain, but on the other an equally strong impulse to break apart, seek freedom, and express high ideals. Obviously, these urges are not compatible and the best one can do is seek a compromise, but the native doesn't want to compromise and expects both desires to be fully met. This is particularly true since both Saturn and Uranus seek perfection. The native must reconcile themselves to the understanding that there is no way to fully express both these energies at the same time in any given situation. Instead, they can gradually achieve closer and closer approximations to a workable compromise if they can just be patient and honor both sides of themselves. For example, when a new project, job or relationship is being planned, the need for Uranian idealism and flexibility needs to taken into account, and so must the desire to produce something lasting.
