Background to the question

Jack and her colleague Susan had an argument. Then Jack moved to another State. Two weeks later, Susan wrote to Jack apologizing. Jack received the message while he was moving. Lying, he wrote back to Susan saying that everything was fine and that he had already forgotten about their argument.

This is the event chart cast for the date and time when Jack emailed Susan. Even though he did not expect Susan to reply, Jack hoped she would write back. Also, he was curious about how she would react to his message.

Delineation

Strictures against judgement

The Ascendant is in Via Combusta
The Ascendant is too early (3° 39' Scorpio)

Normally we would not read this chart, advising the querent to come back at a different time. In this case however the considerations against judgement do not apply. The chart describes the situation perfectly.

Scorpio is a deceitful sign. With his message, Jack wanted to made Susan think he was fine and he had forgot their argument. This was simply not true! Jack was still thinking about it. He had also second motives, as he hoped Susan would have a relationship with him.

Scorpio is a lustful sign. The lord of the Ascendant, Mars, is a sexual planet. The Ascendant is conjunct Princeps. Princeps is a fixed star indicating desire. The chart gives clear indications about Jack's feelings and intentions towards Susan.

Jack's second motives were indicated by the placement of the Ascendant in Via Combusta. This indication was corroborated by the following elements:

The Ascendant is conjunct Syrma. Syrma is a fixed star known as Al Ghafr by the Arabs. Ghafr means to cover, to suppress. What is covered cannot be seen. Jack was hiding his true feelings.
The lord of the Ascendant is burnt. A burnt planet is obscured by the Sun. Something which is obscured cannot be seen. Jack did not want Susan to know he was enraged. He was pretending he was fine, while in fact he was not.
The lord of the Ascendant is in the twelfth house. Jack was hiding his true intentions.
Mercury is in Via Combusta. Mercury is the natural ruler of communications. Mercury is maleficated by its placement. A maleficated Mercury means lies and deceit.
Mercury is in the twelfth house. Jack was lying.

The early Ascendant means that the message had just been sent. Therefore Susan had not read it yet.

The chart describes Jack accurately. Scorpio is rising, Mars rules the Ascendant and Jupiter is in the first house. Jack had wavy auburn hair, he was not very tall, and slightly muscular. Mars was culminating in Jack's natal chart. His job was related to crime, and therefore was well described by Scorpio ascending and by Jupiter's placement in the first house.

Choice of significators

The querent is indicated by the Ascendant and its lord, Mars.
The message and its conditions are indicated by the third house and its lord, Saturn

What significator do we choose for Susan?

Susan is Jack's workmate, so is indicated by the sixth house. The sixth house falls in Aries and it is ruled by Mars. We cannot use the same significator for two people. Therefore we have to choose a different significator for Susan. The Almuten of a sign must be used. The almuten of Aries is the Sun, so we use the Sun to signify Susan.

Delineation

Mars/Jack is in its detriment. By being in the twelfth house, it suffers an accidental debility. It is burnt, and therefore maleficated. It is square Saturn, an infortune. All this indicates that Jack is worried, angry and has no power to act. If he acts, the worst attributes of Mars may come into play, and he may be prone to violence. Mars is in the fall of the Sun/Susan. Jack is totally hopeless and angry at Susan.

Saturn/the message receives Mars/Jack by exaltation, triplicity and terms. Jack is thinking about the message.

The Sun/Susan is in pitted degrees. Susan is similar to somebody who has fallen into a well. She does not know what to do, is totally powerless, (the Sun is in its fall), has nowhere to turn to and is in need of help. The Sun is also in the detriment of Mars/Jack. Susan feels hopeless and upset by Jack. The Sun is received by Saturn by exaltation and triplicity. This indicates that Susan will receive the message but not know what to do.

This is confirmed by the placement of Saturn in the tenth house. The Tenth house is a "public" house. It indicates something that can be seen. Not only Saturn/the message is received by the Sun/Susan. Saturn is in Leo, domicile of the Sun. So, there is reception between the message's significator and Susan's significator. Saturn is however in detriment. The content of the message will be a cause of displeasure for Susan.

There is no applying aspect between the Sun and Mars. Mars is separing a conjunction from the Sun, and has moved from the eleventh to the twelfth house. This nicely indicates Jack's move out of the State. Mars also applies a sextile to Saturn.

The Moon is in the third house, house signifying the message. The Moon will soon perfect a square to the Sun. This may mean that Susan will dislike the content of the message. Afterwards, the Moon will perform a translation of light. The Moon will separe a square from the Sun and apply a square to Mars. Translation of light is one of the aspects indicating a positive outcome to the question. But does the Moon have the power to actually translate the Sun's light to Mars? The Moon is in detriment. So it has little power to perform the translation.

The Sun is in fall, all of the significators are peregrine and the translation of light occurs by square. Mercury, natural ruler of messages, is void of course. Replying to the message will be difficult. The chances of getting no reply are very high.
