The quincunx is five times the semisextile, resulting in an angle of 150°. Like the semisextile, the quincunx brings a chance to evolve and integrate aspects of the self, but it also adds more change through multiplication by five. Whereas the semisextile settles down to a workable solution, the quincunx is often restless and results in noticeable changes. Like an opposition, the two issues represented by the planets appear wholly incompatible, but unlike the opposition this conflict often goes unnoticed consciously by the native. The native may bounce back and forth between each planetary urge trying to express it, but find themselves constantly dissatisfied because they are unable to express both at the same time. The path to evolution in this aspect is to transcend the problem by becoming aware of the conflict instead of repressing it, and coming into realization that it is not as desperately urgent as it seems to push so hard. Both sides of self can coexist at the same time, and this realization can only be realized by transcending the conflict entirely. Probably the best way to describe the attitude needed to resolve a quincunx is 'zen-like acceptance'. Struggle only increases the problem, while awareness and relaxation seem to magically resolve it. Acceptance results in enlightenment and the realization of a more evolved reality.
