Placido de Titus (1603-1668)
- Italian astrologer who created the Placidus method of house division, which eventually replaced the Regiomantanus House System.
- His goal was to create a system, which would complement Ptolemy’s system of primary directions. He succeeded where Regiomontanus failed.
- His two main astrological works were the Three Books of Physiomathematical Questions, and Tables of the Prime Mobile.
- In his books he outlines his system of house division and also explains different methods of progressions.
