North Node in the fourth house
According to Abû Ma'sar as reported by Guido Bonatti, the following medieval interpretation of the North Node in the fourth house applies to nativities, solar returns and horary questions:
Generally benefic if the cusp of the fourth house falls in an airy or a fiery sign, generally malefic if it falls in an earthy or watery sign. According to Guido Bonatti if the cusp of the fourth house falls in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra or Aquarius, the native may experience an raise in profits from his estates, wineyards and land. If on the other hand the cusp of the fourth falls in Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Scorpio or Pisces the opposite may occur. According to Luca Gaurico the native will enjoy wealth throughout his life, and perhaps find a treasure, or obtain some unexpected advantage. Also his father may live until a very old age. If the cusp of the fourth house falls in a water sign, this delineation is to be reverted.
South Node in the tenth house
According to Abû Ma'sar as reported by Guido Bonatti, the following medieval interpretation of the South Node in the tenth house applies to nativities, solar returns and horary questions:
Loss of one’s office and danger, perhaps during travels. The native’s mother may be unlucky and die at a young age. Kings, noblemen and the powerful will have to face several obstacles, and a diminution of their honours and dignity.
