North Node in the first house

According to Abû Ma'sar as reported by Guido Bonatti, the following medieval interpretation of the North Node in the first house applies to nativities, solar returns and horary questions.

If conjunct any planet in the first house, the North Node will augment their strength and dignity. If the North Node is conjunct a malefic, it will make it stronger too, as the North Node has an augmenting effect on the qualities of the planets it is in aspect to. The native may befriend powerful persons, and be honored by them.

South Node in the seventh house

According to Abû Ma'sar as reported by Guido Bonatti, the following medieval interpretation of the South Node in the seventh house applies to nativities, solar returns and horary questions:

Divorce, strife, enemies. In solar returns and horary questions, this placement was believed to be particularly unfortunate with regards to marriage, particularly if the querent belonged to the lower social classes (Bonatti). According to Luca Gaurico the South Node in the seventh house may mean death of one's spouse.
