Neptune sextile Pluto is a generational aspect. Generational aspects are aspects that are made between two trans-personal planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). This aspect has been around since 1942 (starting with Neptune in Libra sextile Pluto in Leo) and still remains to this day. There was another brief Neptune sextile Pluto transit from 1837 to 1851.
Neptune relates to mass consciousness and Pluto relates to political power and focused energy. There is often widespread conflict and political ideals. The evolutionary process of mankind is ever expanding and that it strives to achieve ultimate perfection. Also, studies of outer space, other worlds, and the universe have increased during this time.
