The house of the Moon reveals the early childhood experience and view of the mother's role in the family. It indicates where we are most nurturing or where we expect to be emotionally supported by others. The house of the Moon is the area of life where we are most emotional, instinctive and exhibit subconscious repetition of past habits (or karmic patterns).
Those born with Moon in the fourth house probably had a mother (or nurturing dad) who primarily took care of the home and family. The ties to parents and family run deep, and there is likely to be an interest in history, antiques, genealogy, or other remnants of the past. These people will have a strong need to nest and possibly start a family, although there may be quite a lot of change in residence despite their desire to settle down. This is possibly due to the fact that they are overly sensitive to their home environment, and may not be able to reconcile their nostalgic image with the present. They are strongly attuned to nature, the roots of things, and the unconscious.
