When Saturn conjuncts Jupiter we have the principle of caution, pessimism and responsibility eclipsing the ability to be generous, optimistic and spontaneous. These people are more prone to negativity than those with a strong, well-aspected Jupiter. However, they are also less restricted and undermined by the fears and limitations represented by Saturn. The areas of the chart ruled by Saturn and the areas affected by Saturn transits and progressions will be more fortunate. Likewise, Jupiter will not have as strong or beneficial effect over its rulerships and transits as it would if it were not burdened with Saturn. A good analogy for this pair might be the concept of Temperance, both in its common definition of moderation and its more philosophical definition of blending various qualities. This conjunction will temper everything in life ruled or affected by Saturn and Jupiter, which generally is very good and fortunate in the long run. However, if one is stronger than the other there is a danger of imbalance. For example, if Saturn is stronger than depression and fear of success may be a problem. If Jupiter is stronger than there may be problems with keeping commitments and being responsible. In fact, these people may wobble back and forth between these extremes regardless of which planet is stronger, particularly when one or the other planet is highlighted by transits. Their gift, however, is in the eventual ability to balance these extremes. They have the potential for a strong, balanced and moderate temperament and an excellent ability to decide and administer justice.
