Janet Jackson is the youngest member of the Jackson family. Her oldest sister is 16 years older than she is, which means that an entire generation had elapsed from the birth of the eldest child to the youngest.

By the time Janet had reached the age of reason, several of her siblings had matured and had already become famous. She therefore either did not witness or did not recall much of the abuse that is said to have taken place in the family.

Janet is a very private person, which is no doubt a reaction to growing up in a famous family and continuously being in the spotlight. She also had to keep family secrets, which further prompted her to keep her personal life very private.

One thing that people have lauded her for was her ability to keep a secret. She knew all about her brother Michael’s skin condition, vitiligo, and did not tell a soul. Her discretion was honourable, but the fact that she is expected to keep so many family secrets makes one wonder what else she has to hide. It is no secret that her sister, La Toya, was practically disowned from her family because she said that she and her sister, Rebbie, had been sexually abused whilst growing up. Growing up in a dysfunctional family left Janet with the choice of towing the family line and declaring that no abuse had taken place, or standing by her sister and possibly being disowned as well.

The fact is that Janet was simply either too young or not even on the earth when much of the abuse was supposed to have occurred. She therefore could not accurately declare that no abuse had occurred with regard to her father and his alleged sexual abuse of her siblings because she simply was not there and he had already begun to take mistresses by the time she was old enough to remember much of what went on in the home.

Although Janet publicly states what her family dictates, she has not been unscathed by the private lives of those close to her. She had to witness her father’s infidelity and her mother’s anguish. Not surprisingly, she developed a deep distrust of men. A look at Janet’s chart will give further illumination into the make-up of such a complex personality.

Janet has a stellium in the sign of Taurus, which reveals that this sign plays a major part in her personality. She is a very sensual, materialistic person who appreciates the more physical aspects of this Earth.

Janet’s Sun is in the sign of Taurus, which reveals the very stable side of her character. She is not flustered easily and if firmly grounded to the realities of this Earth. She desires success and is highly ambitious. She has a dominant personality and wants to end up on top, whatever the cost. The Sun forms an opposition to Neptune, which indicates that she can easily delude herself about matters of an intense nature and this is especially so when relating to her family. She is able to convince herself that the many family secrets that she has been expected to keep are merely untrue rumours spread by gossips. At one point she became obsessed about the fact that he had a child from his mistress, and this young girl was not recognised by Janet or her other siblings as being a part of the Jackson family. Janet witnessed first hand her father’s infidelities, and this had the effect of tainting the perception that she had of her father and other men in general.

Janet has a second stellium in the sign of Aries, which indicates that Aries is a large part of Janet’s chart. Therefore, in addition to the strong sense of stability that Taurus provides, she also has a deep-seated drive to succeed that has made her a very competitive individual.

Janet’s Moon is posited in the sign of Aries, which reveals that she does not suffer fools gladly. Her initial responses are likely to be somewhat aggressive but as she matures, she is likely to temper any aggression with reason, thereby enabling her to control any outbursts. Janet’s Mercury is posited in the sign of Taurus, which indicates that she does not really change her mind once she determines a certain thought process to be true. She may be a slow learner, but she is not likely to forget a concept once she has meditated upon it, and she therefore learns through experience. Mercury forms an opposition to Neptune, which reveals that she is very idealistic, especially with regard to her personal relationships. It should come as no surprise, therefore, to learn that her first very brief marriage was to a man who had a drug abuse problem. Just as her father was not able to give his whole self to his wife, she chose a man w could not give all of himself to her. Mercury forms a trine to the Pluto/Uranus conjunction, which alludes to the sacrifices that she would have to make in order to work in the entertainment industry. She would have plastic surgery to improve her appearance, she would have to stick to a very strict diet to keep her weight down, and she would have to make other important choices with regard to her friendships and who she would align herself with to help her in her career.

Venus is posited in the sign of Aries, which reveals that in matters of love, Janet does the pursuing. She is not content to sit back and wait for a man to make the first move, and will initiate a romance if he isn’t quick on the mark. In the same vein, she will become bored quite easily in matters of love, which means that any man who wants to capture her heart will need to be versatile and ready to change to suit her. Janet unconsciously is attracted to aggressive men. Perhaps because she witnessed her own father’s rage and aggression on a regular basis, on a subliminal level she seeks out men who will help her to recreate those old childhood traumas that have so wounded her soul. Venus forms a quincunx to the Uranus/Pluto conjunction, which again alludes to the fact that she has become involved in some rather dysfunctional relationships in an attempt to help her to work through deeply ingrained psychological issues from the past. Janet does not suffer fools gladly, however, and will usually tire of people who she feels are taking advantage of her, and will in time eliminate these relationships that are just dragging her down.

Mars is posited n the sign of Taurus, which reveals that Janet is a very sensual person, and this is one of the reasons why she has so much sex appeal. Although she enjoys her food and has a tendency to gain weight, she can stick to a strict dietary regime if need be. Mars forms an opposition to Neptune, which reveals that she can be quite idealistic about her personal relationships. She may decide to experiment in her partnerships with others, and will explore alternative ways of relating to people until she is able to find a process that suits her. Some of her relationships can be quite explosive, especially when deception is involved. Mars also forms a quincunx to the Pluto/Neptune conjunction, which reveals that she is very ambitious in matters concerning her career. For the sake of her work, she will give her all to whatever project she is involved in, which further adds to the success that she most certainly has achieved. Perhaps because Janet witnessed her own father’s duplicity and infidelities within the family, she developed in her opinion what was a quite justified distrust of men.

It was her association with famous family members that enabled her to get her foot in the door of show business, which has helped her to be successful and prosperous. Although Janet and her siblings grew up to resent their father in the role that he played to make them famous, the fact is that his drive and ambition is what gave his children the impetus to strive for fame. Her silence and loyalty to an abusive, philandering man has left her scarred in her own way because she has yet to develop a positive relationship with a man.

Saturn placed in the sign of Pisces, which indicates that Janet would have some lessons that she would need to learn with regard to drugs, alcohol, and deception. She learned all about deceit from her father, who could not stay faithful to one woman and used coercion to keep his children, especially his daughters, in line. Janet learned all about drug abuse from her first husband. She learned first hand how damaging drugs could be by witnessing her husband’s addiction. Saturn forms a trine to Neptune, which further illustrates the difficult lessons that Janet would have to learn. In order to succeed in this world, she would be required to keep secrets of utmost importance. In addition, she would have cosmetic surgery, as evidenced by the fact that she has had liposuction and rhinoplasty on a number of occasions.

Uranus is posited in the sign of Virgo, which reveals that Janet would reinvent herself time and time again so that she could be a success in her career. She would also adopt a health and fitness regime so that she would look attractive in front of the camera. Janet is a multi-talented individual because she can act and sing. She has had to make choices with regard to the direction that she wanted her work to go through, which again is indicative of the Uranian influence. Uranus forming a sextile to Neptune indicates that Janet is very idealistic about her work. She has some intense dreams about the goals that she would like to accomplish, and this is revealed to the rather sexual nature of her music videos.

Neptune is placed in the sign of Scorpio, which reveals that it is difficult for her to see matters of a great intensity the way they really are. It is for that reason that she will embark upon some rather extreme measures, such as plastic surgery or crash diets. Neptune forming a sextile to Pluto further intensifies the feelings that Janet has with perfection, particularly with regard to her work. She would go to almost any extreme for her work, to include plastic surgery, fat farms, and personal trainers so that she can look the way she desires. Most recently, she received much negative attention by allowing a nipple to be exposed in a major sporting event. While she no doubt thought such an act would boost her career, she later saw the error of her ways and regretted what was merely a publicity stunt.

Pluto is placed in the sign of Virgo, which reveals that Janet will tend to go through extremes with regard to her work. She may be bombarded with offers of work for a period of years and then suddenly, without warning, she will find herself unemployed. Because Janet’s work tends to fluctuate, she would be wise to develop balance in other areas of her life, such as developing hobbies or busying herself in unpaid work during those lean tines.

Janet’s North Node is placed in the sign of Taurus while her South Node is in the sign of Scorpio. This reveals that she needs to become financially independent in this life before she can achieve her full potential. Sexual activity is not something that will give Janet the fulfilment that she desires, and she will be happiest living a celibate lifestyle.
