Your AstrologyNotes User Page

AstrologyNotes is not just an astrological encyclopedia, a collection of common interpretations, or an archive of contributed articles. Astrologynotes is a community. That means we chat, share information and even work on articles together. Naturally, we would like to get to know you and have a place to leave you messages and stuff. That place is you own user page.

Try This!

If you are currently logged into AstrologyNotes, you will see a link with your username in the top right of the browser window. This links directly to your home page. Go ahead and right click on your username now and choose "open in new window".

If you have not posted anything on your home page, you will see that it opens into a rather scary looking blank box with a toolbar at the top. That means you are in edit mode. When you have nothing on your homepage, that is all people see when they click on a link to your name, and your name will appear in bright red instead of the oh so cool blue link font that the rest of us have. So...let’s consider putting something more interesting on that page, shall we?

What you can put on your user pages

• Information about yourself and maybe a picture
• Your AstrologyNotes user info template.
• Your horoscope (you will need to upload them first through Special:Upload).
• Your AstrologyNotes projects
• Links to any number of other pages that you create in your user space.

Your user space can include as many pages as you like, all prefaced by User:Yourname/. For example, if I wanted to make a page in my user space for people to my photos I could create a link like this: User:StarAlchemist/PhotoGallery. To create a page in your user space, make a link to it then click on it to edit.

Don't worry if wiki links seem confusing right now, you'll learn more about making wiki links later in the tutorial.

Other pages in your user space include my talk, which is your own personal talk page for people to communicate with you, preferences, where you change your user preferences, my watchlist, which takes you to a page where you can set a watch on chosen pages in the site and a my contributions link which will show all the pages you have contributed to. Many people put a link to this on their user page, for example: Special:Contributions/StarAlchemist. See Help:Login for more information about logging in and setting preferences.
