Firmicus Maternus

Julius Firmicus Maternus was a Sicilian lawyer who wrote a treatise on Hellenistic astrology in Latin during the 4th century titled the Eight Books of Astrology (Latin:Matheseos Libri Octo). Several years later he apparently converted to Christianity and wrote an attack on pagan religions titled On the Error of Profane Religions (Latin: De erroribus profanarum religionum).
