Moon's Nodes
The Moon’s Nodes are two points opposite each other in the Zodiac where the Moon crosses the plane of the Earth’s orbit. The North Node is where the Moon crosses the ecliptic plane (from south to north). The Descending Node is the point where the Moon moves from North of the ecliptic plane to South of it. Because the Moon represents the unconscious and all past life or ancestral memories, the Nodes point to areas where we are stuck in persistent instinctual habits (South Node) or where we need to overcome our habits through conscious effort (North Node).

Greek Lots / Arabic Parts
In the field of horoscopic astrology, the Greek Lots, which are also known as the Arabic Parts, are based on a mathematical calculation of three points in the horoscope. Although these "Lots" or "Parts" were developed and used as far back as 2,000 years ago in the earliest strata of the horoscopic astrological tradition, many astrologers still use them today when casting a chart. For more information see the article on Lots.
