During the early hours of 25th January 1998 a young woman died unnecessarily. The circumstances surrounding her death are dubious at best, because the 19 year old was found covered in her own blood and vomit, with bruises to her face and a cut eye, only wearing her ankle socks.

The woman was staying in a local hostel when she confided to a former boyfriend who she still considered to be a friend that she was feeling depressed. In an ill-fated attempt to cheer her up, he took her to a local pub and after a tiff, left her and thus enabled her killer to move in with what appeared to onlookers as a rather intense chat-up. After the pub closed the woman and her killer went to a local night-club where they were caught on surveillance passionately kissing at approximately 12:40am. It was at 2:30am that the killer went to visit a woman who he had been having an affair with, thus giving a questionable time period of about two hours for the assault which resulted in her death to take place.

The judge presiding over the case is quoted as saying to the murderer:-

‘Your behaviour was so horribly self-centred and extremely callous it makes one wonder how one human can behave like that to another.

It is quite clear that you had her in mind for a sexual partner for your own short-term pleasure - you assaulted her in a way that seems to have originated from her refusal of our advances.’

This death appears to have been a matter of ill-fated coincidence where she was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. If she had gone into another pub on that evening she would never have met her killer. We can, however, learn a lot from occurrences transpiring in the heavens and how they relate to the events here on Earth.

The sign of Scorpio which represents sex and death is on the cusp of the Ascendant, thus indicating that events of an extreme nature would be taking place. Pluto, ruler of the first house, is on the cusp of the second house which shows that a great deal of sensuality mingled with uncontrollable sexuality was involved. Pluto rules the frigid cold and it is therefore interesting to note that the woman had died precisely because she had been left out in inclimate weather, and not necessarily because of the injuries she sustained.

The North Node is posited in Virgo in the tenth house which indicates that the persons involved should have taken a more discerning stance and stayed in the public eye while the South Node in Pisces placed in the fourth house shows that alcohol and other substances would have a detrimental effect as it would endow others with a false sense of security and consequently become complacent in their milieu.

The Midheaven (tenth house), is in the sign of Leo which indicates that uncommitted romance was on the agenda for the evening. Aquarius, the sign on the cusp of the Nadir (fourth house) shows that unknown to the naive young woman, a sudden turn of events was quite likely to occur. Jupiter and Mars, both of which are in the last dwad of the sign indicates that an element of extreme elation caused by irrational thinking processes resulted in the uncalled for violent behaviour which was inappropriate for the situation.

Gemini on the cusp of the eighth house shows the killer had a dualistic approach to sex, as he was already living with one woman who he had sired two children with and was having an affair with a second woman at the time he met his victim. Mercury, ruler of the eighth house, is posited in the third house and shows quite clearly that he intended to have sexual relations with the woman, in his car in a known lovers lane. What is unfortunate is the fact that the woman probably refused his overtures and he reacted offensively towards her. In addition, she very likely would not have died if he had not left her unclothed during that cold, winter morning because the injuries she sustained were not considered to have been fatal.
