Alfred G. Roosedale translated Reinhold Ebertin's The Combination of Stellar Influences into English in 1960, bringing that classic work into the mainstream of astrology in the English speaking world.
Despite the importance of his translation of Ebertin's work, Roosedale remains an obscure figure in the history of 20th century astrology and very little is known of him. In Working with Astrology, Charles Harvey and Michael Harding describe Roosedale as a "German-Jewish refugee, a brilliant inventor, astrologer and linguist...who moved in astrological and Gurdjieff-Ouspensky circles in London immediately after the war."
