In horary astrology the Moon is a co-significator of the querent, and it also indicates the temporal sequence of events related to the question. To be able to perform, the Moon should be free from any of the following afflictions:

  1. Combustion
  2. Descensions The descension of the Moon is the degree opposite to the degree of her exaltation. Since the Moon is exalted at 3 Taurus, her descensions is at 3 Scorpio. According to Anima Astrologiae (via William Lilly), this also applies when conjunct to any planet in Scorpio or Capricorn, or a planet in its descension. [1]
  3. In "Via Combusta". The burned path is situated between the last 15 degrees of Libra and the first 15 degrees of Scorpio.
  4. In the combust degrees. The combust degrees are the 12 degrees opposite to the degree where the Sun is.
  5. Conjunct or in hard aspect to Saturn or Mars. However if there is reception between the Moon and one of the infortunes, this affliction is not particularly strong.
  6. Conjunct Caput Draconis (Dragon's Head, or North Node) or Cauda Draconis (Dragon's Tail, or South Node).
  7. In Gemini. According to Guido Bonatti, this is the twelfth from her own house.
  8. In the terms of Saturn or Mars.
  9. Cadent from the angles.
  10. Void of course.
  11. Slow of course.
  12. In want of light. The Moon is in want of light when the planet cannot be seen.
  13. Besieged.
  14. At the Bendings.
  15. In azimene, smoky, dark or pitted degrees.
