Abu Ma’shar (c.787-886C.E.)
- Professional, and court astrologer who wrote over fifty books on astrology.
- Initially he was against astrology until it was explained to him in detail by Al-Kindi.
- Also pioneered the field of aries ingresses and solar returns.
- His most characteristic doctrine was the observation of conjunctions as turning points in history, specifically the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.
- He devised a whole scheme of history based off of this doctrine, which was copied, and imitated in later centuries by many other astrologers.
