8th Harmonic

The 8th Harmonic series of aspects are formed by dividing the 360 degree circle by 8, giving us all the aspects that are a multiple of 45 degrees. Of these, the conjunction (0 degrees), square (90 degrees), and opposition (180 degrees) are considered major aspects, while the semisquare (45 degrees) and sesquisquare are considered minor aspects.

In harmonics, the division of a circle by 8 is symbolic of manifestation, so this family of aspects is often associated with events.
