Hi,

I noticed that the New Moon (29 Cancer 27") on July 21, 2008 is a Total Solar Eclipse. This New Moon will conjunct my natal 2nd House Cusp (0 Leo 14") and my natal Mercury (0 Leo 33"). I would appreciate it if someone could let me know how this will impact my finances and my thinking. Attached is my natal chart showing the transits for that day. However, it doesn't show the exact degree of the New Moon because it occurs at night and I was born in the morning.

Thank you for your input.

Hello!

We'll try to get back to you with a reply soon. If you don't hear anything by Monday, please post again.

Anyone is welcome to respond to your post, so hopefully someone else will before I do. :-)

Hi, Again!

I am not an expert on eclipses, but what I think is that with the eclipse falling on your 2nd house cusp, Mercury, and North Node in Leo, there will be an ending to regarding yourself in a certain way and the beginning of something new that includes many others. You may want to take others under you wing in some way, or guide them.

The ending may not be easy, but it's hard to tell. It may be mostly something that you will need to take charge of and just deal with. You may not feel like a "leader" anymore, but you will be...Just in a different way. This is a karmic thing, and you must learn that the real "valuables" are not the ones that you've been holding onto. You have other more valuable assets within your own SELF,and within the home and family. Transiting Saturn in Virgo will be conjunct your Moon at this time, and the ending may have something to do with the home or your family, but it is not something that you can control. Mercury is the ruler of Virgo, where your Moon is. Something will fade with the Moon.

You may feel at a loss for words during this eclipse, but they may come out later on in a way that educates or advises someone else (possibly a younger person).

Good luck!

Sherrye

Hi Sherrye,

Thank you for your interpretation. Is this going to have a negative or positive effect on my finances? Also, it's my south node that's in Leo, not my north node and this eclipse in also conjunct the transiting south node in Leo - will that have an impact.

Hi!

Sorry, that was a typo regarding the South Node. I also have South Node in Leo conjunct Mercury and North Node in Aquarius, so I've been watching this. Sometimes I am in a hurry because I'm the only one answering questions, and I miss typos. No typo in the actual interpretation, but I don't expect you to know that! ;)

South Node re-establishes that there is a familiarity and possibly family element to part of this. (Your North Node is sitting in your 8th House in Aquarius.) If you see where I said, "This is a karmic thing, and you must learn that the real "valuables" are not the ones that you've been holding onto. You have other more valuable assets within your own SELF,and within the home and family." The nodes are in your 2nd and 8th houses, where traditionally the 2nd house is your personal finances, personal values, job, money, etc., and the 8th house is finances of others and how they affect you, or inheritance, hidden treasures or valuables, and many other things that don't have much to do with your question.

So what I was saying in that sentence is that you may lose out somewhat financially, but that you will find that other resources are more valuable and important to you. I don't want to influence any personal decisions you are making too much by spelling out what seems to be happening in the chart, but I will say that there is a possiblity that even if your finances don't go too well, there may be either some kind of inheritance or "payback" that happens a bit later on. You may be trading one thing for another in a sense.

I hope that helps without unduly influencing you.

Sherrye

Hi Sherrye,

Thank you. I wouldn't mind being influenced and would appreciate it if you would spell out what seems to be happening in my chart. I am very concerned about this eclispse particularly since it will influence my finances and I am already out of work for over a year and my savings are already running low. I know that there are more important resources than money but unfortunately they don't pay bills or health insurance premiums. Even with good qualifications, I can't seem to land a job. Based on my natal chart, particularly with Jupiter trine Saturn and Neptune, sextiling Sun and Pluto, and the Sun, Mercury, Mars and Part of Fortune in the 2nd House, wouldn't I have some kind of financial security and not have to worry as much as I have been?

Does the natal chart overrule transits?

I would appreciate your opinion on this.

Thanks.

I don't want to add to your worries, but I think that you may have to relocate to find work. It's possible that you will manage to get somewhere financially in August, when transiting Jupiter retrograde conjuncts your Sun and Pluto in Leo, but I feel you will really have to stretch the scope of WHERE you are looking.

I remember that you had posted here before. Your birthdate was quite familiar to me, as it is close to my own. ;)

You've had months of dealing with the transit of Neptune and Chiron (and at one point Jupiter) in Aquarius opposite your Sun and Pluto, which confuses all issues not only around your identity, but around partners, career, home...And if you've posted here before, you many know this. Right now Neptune and Chiron have moved away from the opposition enough that you may be able to ground yourself and make some actual progress. But you may have to truly travel to do that.

In the meantime, continue to cut back on all expenses.

The aspects in your natal chart will ultimately protect you to some extent, but not completely. My own chart also has many of the aspects you mentioned (or all of them), as I was born close to your birthdate. Although I would like to help you more, I don't have many answers at this moment. We'll see what I can come up with.

I really do want to help. I wish I could have been more of a help than I have been.

Sherrye

Hi Sherrye,

Thank you again for your response. Relocating for a job is definitely not an option. It would create so many other problems that I'd be better off taking a very significant pay cut to stay where I am and wait for the economy to change. Or else, go back for some additional training that wouldn't require a long time commitment. There are actually less jobs and opportunities in other places than there are in Manhattan. Of course, anything can happen and maybe I'll get married and move out of state or just not have to work ;)

There's are a lot of ways to interpret things in astrology. It will be interesting to see what actually develops. I still have Uranus in Cancer in the first house and from my lifelong experience, things can change on a dime for me. Also, with Jupiter in the 12th house in Gemini, there's always been an element of last minute luck - of course, I'll have to wait for the square from Saturn in Virgo to pass.

I do remember that you told me we were born close together. Have you been experiencing similar obstacles with these aspects? I think in my case, that Saturn in Virgo on my moon (which rules my Cancer ascendant) is the biggest obstacle because it's making me depressed and unable to pull myself up and think positive and it feels like it's been going on forever!

I understand what you are saying about Saturn in transit back and forth over your Virgo Moon. THat does make it all much more difficult.

I am going to post a version of your chart that includes natal, progressed, and transits...If I don't see anything significant that I have missed, maybe Justin (who will be back soon, I believe) will have something to add.

This eclipse season has really battered me because my dad has developed cognitive dementia like symptoms after he had an argument with a neighbour and im struggling to get to the bottom of it and dad is making himself difficult by not coming with me to the doctor again. He cant look after himself and has forgotten his entire environment but still remembers things around the home. He wont go outside even though he used to everyday before this happened.
They say that eclipses change your life in an instant and that has happened to me. It all started at the first new moon in cancer last month and i think pluto was involved with that one and it has changed everything. Im hoping to get to the bottom of things by the second new moon in cancer at the end of the month. Maybe it has to do with something else in my chart that has been triggered by it seems to have coincided with the eclipse season.
