If the sun has an opposition from Jupiter would this be an ' unlucky ' aspect ?

No, not in my opinion. But the person can have an over-inflated ego at times and turn people off for that reason. Also, they may be so optimistic about their progress that they fail to have a backup plan and things can fall apart at times. I recommend these people attach a little Saturnian devil to their shoulder to whisper "but what if???" occassionally .

Thank you for your reply ; I have this aspect and I agree I can be a little OTT when meeting people , my confidence levels are high and I agree that this can instantly put people off me .. especially women .. they seem to find my personality ' too much ' . I have been told this on many occassions .. in fact some of my closest friends disliked me intensley when they first met me .

As for using Saturn influence a little wiser I wish I could ... I have Saturn in Aries in the 4th with no aspects to it so there seems to be no holding me back
