I had a course sometime back and we covered secondary progressions. As I recall, we only read biwheels, wherein the secondary progression was on the outer wheel and our natal charts were inner. Aspects we discussed were progressed planet to natal planet.

I wondered why one can't read a progressed single wheel as it stands. The ascendant, sun, moon, and three inner planets are the major things changing of course. Signs are the same, but houses are different from the bi-wheel. With the single wheel, one could just look at the aspects as if they were a natal chart.

But is this a correct procedure?

As for progressed charts used as a kind of "new" chart for the person, much like a solar return... I've experimented with all kinds of readings and procedures, even that one, and you can get defiitely valid information from trying it that way. Why not? I always see progressed charts as the everchanging picture, kind of the "evolution" of the chart. We are continously born anew.

Thanks Sherrye,

I thought it made sense. The major difference it seems to me is that the area of one's life affected by the "starting aspects" change from the biwheel chart, but so what? The new aspect pattern is also interesting, updating the challenges one faces from one's starting point.

Hmm....(I seem to be saying that often tonight in my posts..)
I'd read that one reads the progressed chart as a stand alone, and then if there are aspects in there similar to a natal, it sets the natal off...
I'd also read that one puts the prog asc and mc into the natal and the houses they are in are the areas of importance for the current moment.
The Moon and the other faster moving planets are what to watch, because the slower moving planets don't move much.

Yes, that's how they are usually done. There are so many ways of looking at progressions.

Here's an example from my own progressed chart:

When my ascendant progressed into Capricorn, which is intercepted in the 2nd house in my natal chart, I did a 180 degree spin in my values re: methods of income which lasted ten years.
I had started an astrology business years before, and was teaching while my progressed ascendant was still in Sagittarius. I loved it with all my heart, but I slowly stopped enjoying all the calls and knocks on my door as my progressed Ascendant began to change. When the progressed ascendant hit Capricorn, I suddenly became disabled (Frozen shoulder, bone dislocation and adhesion-- a Capricorn limitation). For the next two years, I had to learn the hard way what earning an income can mean, as everything I had been doing came to a halt. Two years later got into medical administration, which is at the other end of the healing spectrum. I worked in a very Capricorn way, which I had never been able to do before, as my only planet in earth is Chiron in Capricorn. So I learned, and I climbed, and I saved money. I attained goals.

However, these days I find that I have changed again, as my progressed ascendant in Capricorn is beginning to conjunct my natal Chiron in intercepted 2nd house Capricorn, and is already opposite my natal Venus in intercepted 8th, Cancer. Astrology is in the forefront for me again, as is partnership in some ways. My values keep shifting.

Hi Sherrye,

My Progressed ASC came this year into Sagittarius, but I don't see some difference in my life. It is true, that going through Scorpio wasn't very nice time. I think also that in Scorpio my P ASC was too long.

About other Progressions: when the planets have changed the sign, there was some change for sure. By other Progressions did work only if I have this aspect in my Natal Chart, otherwise was nothing.

Hi, Bobbie!

Sometimes when your progressed ascendant changes signs it take a little longer to show up than you would expect.
Expect more foreign contacts again, more opprotuites to learn and teach, more opportunities to write, and maybe even some travel. :-)

Hi Sherrye,

Thank you for answer. Sorry, I didn't see that.

What you write here is already right. I didn't write so much all my life as I did in last two years.

Love and light,
Bobbie

p.s. I took it from one Forum (love and light)
